Sorel-Tracy Maritime Terminal (STMT) is located at the mouth of the Richelieu River, in Saint-Joseph-de-Sorel. At a mere 70 km east of Montréal, STMT is the only private port along the St. Lawrence River. It is open year-round and specializes in the handling of steel products and general cargo.
The facility has a water depth of up to 11.0 meters (at Chart Datum) with both inside and outside storage areas which are constantly monitored by its computerized inventory management system. Additionally, the terminal is equipped with reach stackers, mobile cranes, and benefits from a specialized workforce. Sorel-Tracy Maritime Terminal also boasts two Canadian National (CN) rail spurs and has access to major North American highways.
