St. Lawrence Stevedoring (SLS) operates year-round a deep-water terminal in the Beauport sector of the Port of Québec. The terminal boasts a berth length of 1,120 meters and a water depth of 15 meters at low tide which enables it to accommodate vessels of up to 175,000 tonnes of deadweight tonnage (DWT). The terminal is equipped with six mobile gantry cranes, a pneumatic ship unloader, conventional and fluidized conveyors, automated stacking systems, a ship loader and an impressive array of heavy machinery that make it possible to handle up to 150,000 tonnes of cargo a day. The SLS terminal also features a state-of-the-art computerized cargo management system.
