WE HANDLE

Network Map

We have established a reputation of excellence for efficient handling of a diversity of cargoes, such as dry bulk, steel products, forest products, breakbulk and project cargoes, thereby contributing to the growth of the Canadian import and export markets.

BULK

ST. LAWRENCE STEVEDORING (SLS), a division of QSL, is located at the Port of Québec. Its water depth of 15 metres enables it to accommodate vessels with a capacity of up to 175,000 tonnes of deadweight tonnage. Also, thanks to the flexibility of our state-of-the-art equipment, vessel-to-vessel transfers are completed in a matter of hours.

The main commodities that transit through the terminal are iron ore, coke, scrap metal, copper and nickel concentrates, alumina, gypsum, coal, salt, raw sugar and alloys.

Impressive capabilities are available at SLS. Depending on the type of commodity, over 150,000 tonnes a day can be handled.

All terminals in our network are equipped to handle bulk.

STEEL

We are particularly well equipped to receive steel products such as bars, plates, beams, coils and slabs at our strategically located terminals in Sorel-Tracy, Oshawa, Hamilton and Chicago, the leading ports for this commodity. The diversity of our equipment and the skills of our personnel are as strong as the product we handle: steel.

PROJECT CARGO

TO BETTER MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF OUR CLIENTELE, WE ARE ALWAYS PREPARED TO INNOVATE AND TO PROPOSE SOLUTIONS TAILORED TO THE COMPLEXITY OF SPECIFIC HANDLING OPERATIONS.

Our expertise has also been recognized by the United Nations for the handling of helicopters, and by the Canadian and British armed forces for safe handling of explosives, munitions and tanks.

WIND TURBINES

QSL is at the forefront of engineering handling methods for wind turbines components such as blades, hubs, nacelles and towers.

FOREST PRODUCTS

Newsprint, wood pulp, lumber, kraft linerboard and woodchips are handled by QSL and its subsidiaries.

AND MORE...

All ports of our network have the equipment and expertise to handle breakbulk cargoes such as granite, palletized cargo, livestock, big bags, aluminium ingots, containers, wood pellets, potshells, busbars, PVP pipes, transformers, anodes, contaminated soils, etc.
